Today, the Rev. Roger James, area director of South Asia for The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, and Mr. Darin Storkson, associate executive director of Church Relations for The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, recently released an open letter to the pastors and laity of the India Evangelical Lutheran Church.

The letter expresses concerns regarding the upcoming elections. Thus, they write, “As Christian fathers and mothers strive to teach their children to live in a manner pleasing to the heavenly Father, so the LCMS as the spiritual mother of the IELC should strive to pass on to her dear child all that is God-pleasing. In this letter we want to remind you of how things should be done ‘decently and in good order’ (1 Corinthians 14:40) in this up-coming election. It is crucial that those be elected to office who will adorn their offices with all that is good.”

This is just a very small part of the open letter. Please download and read the entire letter here: Open Letter to the IELC

UPDATE: The letter has now been translated into Tamil as well as  Malayalam.
